new fabrics x

i had a quick trip to the fabric shop this morning to pick up some loverly new fabrics!

lots of crafting fun to be had :-)

if only i didnt have so much uni work to do :,-( oh well i need a break every now and then

i have had a lovely new idea from the idea of the chain hearts which alot of this fabric will become soon so please watch this space

it grew!

for my first project at uni this year i descided to look at wool as it is a material that is avalible very cheaply at the moment

i found that wool is a fantastic material for growing plants.

• it holds moisture (so you can forget to water it and it will not be a problem)
• it can be used straight from the sheep which takes the nutrients that are found in the wool, such as green matter, to help the plants grow
• it protects the seeds from weeds and any other nasties that might damage them before they have a chance to grow
• it gives the seeds a protective casing and can start grewing without planting, the wool gives the seeds everything they need

... and anyway, IT GREW! i watered 2 of my seed capsuals before i left for easter (thursday 25th march) and i came back this morning and they have grown! In not sure exactly what i planted in this one :-s it could be a sunflower seed which would be good, this just adds to the excitement of waiting for it to flower :-)

the red one didnt work as well :-(

i think the reason it didnt work is because it is made from tops which has been dyed (i dont think it was dyed naturaly for some reason <3) and i think that the dye is the reason it hasnt grown.

but even this one grew roots :-)

wow that was a big gap

i havent done any blogging in ages! but its not because ive not been working away its because ive been working TOO hard! :-) thats my story and im sticking to it x

also as a bit of a side note! i woke up to find a fox sleeping in my back garden! i love foxs because they seem a bit mysterious, also there are no foxs in guernsey so while im at uni in england i still get really excited to see one.

i was bit worried about him but then he looked at me so im sure he was ok

very late valentine post

I descided to make steve a present this year for valentines day! I even made the wrapping paper :-) (well actually i drew hearts onto handmade paper but i still think its effective :-p )

steve has an over active imaginationa and a few weeks earlier thought up a funny sceane were there is a squirell wearing night vision goggles. As im not very good at animation i descided to stitch the creature for him....

i think he likes it :-)

he especially likes that he came up with the idea :-) lots of love xx

Poker night

This Picture is in responce to lovely madebyheather-heather's post about balieys and i would just like to say that mine is so much cooler than yours time a million :-) to start mine has jigsaw ice!! AMAZING and also it is in the most amazing glass EVER! It rocks! Literaly it's a rocking glass (its good for me as i would have knocked this over about 5 times tonight if it hadnt rocked!)

After loosing spectacually Aimie kindly lent me 5 chips which turned into thisssss!!

Aimie got a straight (we told her it definatly wouldn't happen)

It was her first game! I would say it was beginners luck but to be fair she had to lend me chips :-s

Heart Paper Chains

This project is finally finished so that i can show it! It seems to have been ages since my last blog!

This is my take on a paper chain!

The hearts come individually and are then buttoned together in what ever combination you like!
